Springtime in the City!

At any point in the year, there are always countless things to do in the city, but spring provides perfect weather for getting around the city. Nothing is worse than walking around the city in the brutal winter or taking the subway in the hot, sticky summer. Spring makes the traveling between activities much more enjoyable. But what activities will you do in the city this spring? Here’s a list!

  1. Macy’s Flower Show

The clothing at Macy’s won’t be the only colorful display this spring! Stop by Macy’s Herald Square to see the beauty and maybe stay for free workshops, like terrarium-making or floral design.

  1. Cherry Blossom Viewing

At the Brooklyn Botanic Garden from April 1-26, you can enjoy this historic Japanese tradition of viewing cherry blossoms and be reminded of the beauty of life.

While you are out and about in the city, be sure to stop into Nirvana for lunch, dinner, or for a drink!

Staying Warm

The weather has been absolutely crazy this winter. Although we have had a little break from the snow, we have yet to have a break from the cold. It seems as though every day there is a Winter Weather Advisory.

If you’re not willing to step out in the cold, Nirvana is more than happy to bring you hot, fresh food. Particularly popular during these cold months are our soups, Sweet Corn Chicken and Mulligatawny. Other perfect meals to get delivered are our delicious lunch boxes, seafood, lamb/goat, chicken, tandoori, or vegetable! Or if you will be ordering for a divine dinner, try our Chicken Tikka or Lamb Chops.

Fancy a nice cocktail and don’t mind heading out? Go to Nirvana and warm up enjoying a drink by the fireplace. Have a sweet cocktail or try one of our elegant wines from France, Italy, Germany, Argentina, California, or Australia. If beer is more your thing, we have a wide selection on tap to choose from!

“Nirvana is not a heavenly abode that one goes to. Nirvana is a mindset that one exists in.” Pick up your phone to make a reservation or a delivery! (282) 983-0000

Stay Warm

As the temperature continues to stay low, the more badly you want to go on a great vacation to India. Unfortunately, to do that you would need to take time off of work and even a short vacation to India would become pricey. Why not get a little piece of paradise right in the city? You can sit by a cozy fireplace while sipping martinis and it will feel as if you’re on vacation without the crazy costs.

What could go better with that cocktail than some great Indian cuisine?

Start off by ordering our Sweet Corn Chicken soup that will warm you right up. Then enjoy a fresh seafood entrée that will have you thinking you’re at a luxurious ocean-side resort. Fish Moilee is a great dish for this. Then end your feast with a sweet dessert, like Gulab Jamon, which is a light pastry dumpling made from dry milk in honey syrup.

Don’t feel like leaving your home but still want that tasty meal? Nirvana delivers! Go online or call to place an order!

Splurge and take a helicopter ride. See the beautiful attractions of New York from a bird’s eye view and away from the crowds. The tour may change your perspective on more than just how you see the city, but how you see the world.

Stay Warm at Nirvana!

The past few winters have been crazy…actually, the past few FALLS have been crazy! We’ve been seeing snow hit before winter gets here and if the predictions are right, it’s going to be another brutal season.

People are noticing the changes in the climate and are starting to do something about it. On September 21st there was the People’s Climate March that took place in New York City which was the biggest operation against climate change yet. About 310,000 people marched to spread awareness of the destruction of our environment, saying there is no “PLANet B.” The environment is extremely sensitive to what we put into the air and the effects are never positive. The causes for the change in the climate need to be stopped and we need to ban together in order to do so.

As we figure out a way to change laws and change our behavior, come have a warm lunch or dinner and a great drink at Nirvana!
